A Midsummer Night’s Dream is revealing the chaotic unbalance between man and nature. Our production focuses on Titania’s speech to Oberon as the source of inspiration for our concept, stating “The spring, the summer, The childing autumn, angry winter; change Their wonted liveries, and the mazed world By their increase now knows not which is which. And the same progeny of evils comes From our debate, from our dissension” (A2S1). As she states to Oberon, we the people are the toxic chaos which causes the imbalance within nature through our consumption. Balance is necessary for the restoration of peace between the worlds. Shakespeare causes chaos and restores peace through the natural force of love. My design is showcasing the reflection of form in the industrial and a nature world, with the life giving tree in the epicenter. Below I have model photos, research plates, scenic drafting and painters elevations.
